“FIVE STARS! This is my 3rd Finis Jhung DVD (I also own his Stretch, Turnout & Extension DVD and Ballet Barre for the Adult Absolute Beginner). Like the other two workouts, I also find this video to be a complete winner. What I love about Finis is his imagery. He is just so adept at explaining the mechanics behind each movement. I’ve found that his videos have helped me to personally develop my technique, so much so that others in my adult ballet class have noticed. I highly recommend Finis Jhung to anyone looking to grow as a ballet student.”

“FIVE STARS! GREAT CENTER BARRE AND STRETCHES! If you are a fan of New York City Ballet, you will love this DVD. Like the NYCB workout there are sections for stretching, center barre, and a little dance at the end. In my opinion this DVD is much better than NYCB Workout because there are better explanations on how to do things correctly, and I feel that the exercises on this DVD reflect more correctly what really goes on in a ballet class. Also compared to the exercises in the NYCB, these exercises are more difficult from a muscle and center control standpoint. Ironically though, after doing this DVD I feel less tense than after doing the NYCB Workout even though this program works your muscles more. I feel the reason for this phenomenon is that his stretches are wonderful and not rushed. I have bought many so-called ballet stretching DVDs and most of them quickly go from stretch to stretch without really taking the time to allow your body to relax into the stretch. (By the way, Finis’ other DVD for Turnout and Stretch is also great for allowing your body to slowly get into a deep but at the same time relaxing stretch). The reason this DVD does remind of the NYCB Workout is that it actually uses ballet music. I hate those stupid new age ballet videos that used crappy hyped-up elevator music. The music score is beautiful and makes you want to dance instead of plugging your ears.”

“Your work on these DVD’s is remarkable. I count on the no nonsense corrections that you make. I’ve been teaching ballet for almost the last 30 years. My own training was excellent. However, it’s extremely refreshing to learn that good teaching still leads to sound ballet technique. Thank you for the great insight.”

“The Finis Jhung Technique has completely altered how I participate in dance movement. I am eager to retrace previous steps and learn what has been missing during all the years I have been involved with dance. So, the best move is to go back to the beginning and enjoy the journey from there.”

“Thank you for making Ballet Plus! It feels like you’re right next to me as I move from one step to the next. Your heart and soul emanates from the DVD to my room. Furthermore you TEACH, not just “TELL” and you do it WELL!!! Thank you for teaching me how to do things correctly! I love it and I appreciate everything you do! You are the best!!! A++++”

“I’d like to give you my perspective on your DVDs, which I regard as the most powerful learning tools available to today’s ballet student.
“Although I deeply appreciate the teacher’s corrections in my weekly adult ballet class, I feel that I’m able to learn more when I work solo with your DVDs. The problem is that when I’m in class and watch the demonstrations of the barrework and center work, my inability to remember the movements still throws me into a low-key panic. Because of my poor memory, I need movement models to follow, so I still have to find a place at the barre between two more competent dancers. Since I’m following rather than initiating the movements, I end up feeling like a failure as the class moves on to the next exercise and the demonstration once again throws me into a low-key panic. On your DVDs, each exercise is thoroughly previewed before being demonstrated, which helps address my learning limitations. What I find even better, though, is the rewind/replay option the DVDs provide. If I’m not happy with the quality of my movement, I can take as much time as I need to practice it, and to refine it. On the other hand, since there’s no rewind/replay option in a live class, I rarely attain the satisfaction of a decent level of mastery. In short, your DVDs allow the luxury of self-pacing, which, for me at least, is the key to success.”

“I’m proceeding very carefully and slowly in ‘rehab-ing’ my sprained ankle with your barre videos. The detailed way that you work the feet and our weight is having a really good effect on my foot. I am so grateful! After I do just those 5 exercises, my foot starts to feel more pliable and alive again. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING ALL THESE RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO US!”
