Battement fondu développé relevé
WHAT IS IT?
The battement fondu développé (battement fondu developed and raised). This is the quintessential ballet movement – the “dancing step” that pliés and rises on one leg as the other leg does a développé at either 45 or 90 degrees. This step greatly challenges adult beginners who, unlike professional dancers, have not had years of training and performing experience. However, to experience the joy of displaying various positions in different directions while traveling across the center floor, beginners must —and can —learn how to do this all-important step. In this class, Finis and a demonstrator will concentrate only on the fondu développé relevé in fourth front. This step will be broken down position by position, count-by-count, slowly and methodically first at the barre, and then away from it. This class will develop correct body placement and positioning, muscular strength in the feet and legs, coordination, balance, and grace. By the end of class, your body and mind will tingle with energy!
WHO IS IT FOR?
Please read the description and list of exercises to make sure you are technically strong enough to participate fully. This Mini-Intensive class size is limited to only ten students so that Finis can see each one of you in every exercise and coach and correct you. You should already be warmed up, either from the preceding class or on your own. You must have enough space in your home so that Finis can see your entire body from head to toe with both arms extended. You must have enough clear space to move six feet in either direction. You should be dancing on a flat smooth floor and not on a rug or carpeting. Please wear proper ballet attire. And please set your camera so that Finis can see your entire body as you move from one place to another.
